Why join the master chefs?
Our principal goals are to support the young chefs who will be Master Chefs of the future and to champion great British producers, growers, and manufacturers. And our members support us in achieving these goals.
To showcase only the best of our industry, we ask that members show a strong background in at least a 2 AA Rosette or Michelin Guide listed establishment, for a minimum of two years. Other accolades and activities will of course be taken in consideration too. Membership is by invitation or personal application but we encourage applicants to provide a recommendation from an existing full member of the MCGB in the latter case.
Full members can use the title ‘Master Chef of Great Britain’, which is a recognised and coveted demonstration of excellence. They have the prestige of working as ambassadors for the industry – by leading with influence and providing for the future of the culinary arts, by using their finest products in producing their dishes and by playing a part in the training and development of future talent. We also provide a host of opportunities to promote individuals and businesses to the industry.
